Rebranding an ecological institution with a DIY approach
ABOUT
Visual identity of Ekoškola—Do It Yourself (DIY) is a philosophy not only deeply rooted in the Czech mentality, but also one of the ways to reduce your ecological footprint. We therefore used this principle as a basis for the new Ekoškola (Ecoschool) identity, which aims to teach children to improve the environment in their locality.
SCOPE
CONCEPT
Do it yourself—The identity is designed so that the client can create quality promotional materials internally, using the Canva program. So the visual style is not a finished work, but a toolkit allowing the school to create content without the need for professionals and with a limited budget. This strategy reflects the situation in which Ekoškola finds itself: the team allocates all its energy and budget to teaching and educational programs, and promotion is sidelined.
VISUAL STYLE
Timeless style —Ekoškola's materials are used by both adult teachers and children in nursery school from the age of five. For the success of the rebranding it was crucial to find one visual style that would be attractive to everyone. We found inspiration in Matisse's timeless cut-outs, the simplicity of the shapes also enabling the quick creation of illustrations inspired by nature.
